Present one or two real-life case studies.
Task:
Being given a topic, each group will present one or two real-life case studies and use practical
examples, to reflect and apply the knowledge and theories learned from this course. The focus of
the presentation is to explain how to apply the theory into the real-life practice on different
aspects/components of performance management. The presentation should be brief, reflective,
and critical and supported by evidence. The groups should actively engage the audience during
the presentation. Activities such as self-assessment, role plays and other creative ideas are
encouraged to enhance all students’ learning experience.
A hard copy of Presentation slides is to be submitted to the tutor before the presentation.
Presentation criteria:
• Clear demonstration of understanding of the theories;
• Ability to synthesise and critical analyse the relevant theories;
• Ability to apply the practical examples or real-life case studies to support the analysis;
• Ability to integrate academic references, models and theories into presentation;
• Ability to engage the audience effectively
• Professional standard of presentation and time management skills
Peer evaluation will be adopted for this assessment. The feedback from the tutor and the peer
students will be communicated with the groups weekly. However, the tutors reserve the right to
moderate the peer evaluation if the result does not reflect the real quality of the presentation.
Groups and topics will be assigned in the Week 2 tutorial, to present in weekly Tutorials from
Week 4 to Week 11. See the Table 1 below for details on topics.
