Research proposal. This proposal should be of high quality and should be appropriate for the Capstone course to write your thesis (Please note that a passing grade in this course does not mean you have full approval for your thesis proposal as this is given by your Capstone professor). T Below it is stated for you: “Thesis Proposal: A formal thesis proposal is required and shall be prepared in accordance with the standards of the academic discipline.
The formal proposal must provide a clear and lucid description of a question or problem and a proposed method for answering it. Capstone thesis faculty must approve the proposal before students move on to the next stage of the process. The proposal should explain the question or problem to be investigated and convince the thesis professor that the question or problem merits investigation.
It should show that the student has read the relevant and recent literature on the subject, and it should contain a list of academically appropriate resources consulted during the preliminary stages of research. In general, the thesis proposal should include background information related to the research topic, purpose of the research, methodology, and analytic procedures to be used. Proposal publishing is considered a learning process and helps students avoid oversights and possible mistakes. The formal proposal should not exceed ten pages (title page not included).”
Your final research proposal publish should include the following sections and be in proper APA format:
1. Introduction a. Rationale b. Purpose c. research question(s), objectives, and hypothesis
2. Literature review (minimum of 3 studies – should be peer-reviewed and primary studies)
3. Methods a. Design, theory and/or model used, identify quantitative, qualitative or mixed methods approach b. Data collection procedures c. Data analysis procedures d. Study validation and ethics
4. Study Limitations
5. Conclusions a. How your results will be presented (think about tables and charts you can create) b. How your results will be disseminated - would you like to publish? If so, where would be a good place? c. What the impact of your study may be (policy, practice)
6. References
7. Appendices including an appendix with your timeline for the project. NOTE: You may add extra sections if it will help to format your paper. Format: Follow APA format for paper. See attached model paper. Submission: Save document as “your last name_assignment_8” and submit.
Final Paper/Project for Grad: Please review the Final Paper/Project Grading Rubric prior to submission (Select on View IRubric in the main Assignment List page). Final Paper/Project is due in the Assignment portion of the classroom by Sunday, 11:59 p.m. EST each week. Make sure you read and understand the directions and requirements for each Assignment. Please ensure you cite your references in APA format with a minimum of 7 references (You may use your textbook as a reference and you should have a minimum of 6 academic outside references including 3 peer-reviewed journal articles).
Assignments submitted late without advance notice will receive a 5% per day late penalty and will not be accepted for grading five (5) days past the due date. The Final Paper must have a minimum of 10 pages for a Graduate level course (excluding the title, abstract, and reference pages). The paper must be typed, double-spaced with 1-inch margins in 12-point Times New Roman font with all references cited. Papers will be graded based on the following areas: Foundation and synthesis of knowledge, application of knowledge critical thinking, writing skills, use of computer technology and application, and organization of ideas and format.
