And write a presentation speech for “Suzhou River” from screech.(casual way. like high school student’s talking)
1 it has to contain some bullet poinst or sub title for each section at the begaining of the speech. 2 For the first 2-3 minutes of your presentation, summarize the central arguments oft hereading. What is the author saying? What evidence does the author use to support their argument? Do you agree or disagree with the interpretationof the filmthis authorisoffering, and why?
3 .For the next 2-3 minutes, offer your own critical analysis of the film. Keep the broader questions of this course –about identity, image, etc. –in mind when you shape your argument. This is a place to experiment, but be specific! Some examples might be
:a.identifyinga key formal techniquein the film and explaining why you think it’s significant
b.connectingthe film to the readings we have been doing collectively as a class
c.focusing on one element of the narrativeor stylethat you feel issignificant and explaining why
d.offering a politicalor historicalanalysis of the film’s broader message(implicit or explicit).
You do not have to connect this to the reading from step 1, but you can do so if it feels relevant.
4.Finally, select a short clip from the film (no more than 1 minute long) that you feel illustrates your point in some way(mark the time line in the speech). Show the clip to the class and briefly explain how this clip is relevantto the argument you have made
