Explain the distinct stages of prenatal development.

There are three distinct stages of development. Table 3.1 in your text summarizes the milestones in these periods and provides an overview of development. A baby in the womb is referred to as a “fetus.” You’ll find out in this chapter why this is inaccurate as you learn about the germinal and the embryonic periods within the womb.

• Read Chapter 3 in your text.
• Write 3-4 paragraphs explaining the three periods of prenatal development. After reading Chapter 3 and examining the summary of Table 3.1 in your text, describe something that you found to be unique or even “amazing” in terms of prenatal development.
