The subject of policies that impact access to healthcare providers in my state is very familiar, and how it impacts the provider (APRN)-patient relationship.  In 2014, the commonwealth of Massachusetts came with what is known as the 244 CMR 4.00.  a regulation with a more limited physician supervision regarding NPs scope of practice in  reference to prescriptive privileges. The old regulation required NP entire practice to be under a supervision physician. In this updated mandate,  the routine review of prescriptive practice was changed from three months to “A define mechanism and time frame to monitor prescriptive practice (244 CMR 4.07)
