What do we learn about his character and personality over the course of the chapter?.
Title of book: Born a Crime by Trevor Noah
This is the first time we’re meeting Trevor, and we first see him as a young child going (or, more precisely, being taken) to church. What do we learn about his character and personality over the course of the chapter? What type of person is he? What does he value? Do you see any of yourself in him? Note: Make sure you back up your statement with evidence from the chapter (and don’t be afraid to quote and embed while doing this!
For example,
don’t just say that Trevor is smart, say he is intelligent because he beats all the other students in his grade in a chess tournament (detail)
or even better, say he becomes "King of Soweto High" by beating all the other students in his grade in a chess tournament and watching them all "fall down like bowling pins" when he played them. (note: this did not happen in the book -it is just a hypothetical example)
Here is a list of some character traits and values you could consider when thinking about what you’ve learned about him.
Your response should include THREE things you learn about Trevor’s character in chapter 1,. One POSITIVE CHARACTER TRAIT, one NEGATIVE CHARACTER TRAIT, and one VALUE. Your response should include DETAILS from the text and should be at least 5 sentences long. There is no wrong answer to this as long as you include support, and you will receive full credit for the assignment as long as the criteria are met.
